Hipo Rewards

Our goal is to build Hipo as a truly community-driven protocol, where value and decision-making move to the community.

Staking GRAM with Hipo pays you in three separate streams, on three different clocks:

• Base rewards
  GRAM staking rewards, reflected in hGRAM’s exchange rate against GRAM — settled every validation round (~18 h), nothing to claim
• Boosted rewards
  Extra HPO on the GRAM value of your stake, at a coefficient set by your Hipo Club level — accrues every validation round, withdrawable once your balance passes 1,000 HPO
• Extra rewards
  Hold HPO → receive a share of protocol revenue — paid at the end of each Hipo Club season

All three are trackable in the Hipo app and Hipo Club.

Base rewards: the exchange rate

You stake GRAM and receive hGRAM. There is no lock-up and nothing to claim: validation rewards accumulate inside the protocol, so each hGRAM becomes worth more GRAM over time. Your hGRAM balance never changes — its value does.

This is the main stream, and it is the one the APY on the Stats page refers to. Because Hipo takes no cut of your stake and the governance fee is currently 0%, the whole validation reward flows into the exchange rate.

Boosted rewards: HPO from Hipo Club

On top of the exchange rate, Hipo Club pays you HPO for holding hGRAM. This stream is separate, it is paid in HPO rather than GRAM, and you withdraw it in the Club.

The formula

Every validation round, each member earns:

HPO reward = GRAM value of your stake × HPOrewardRate × LevelRate

• HPOrewardRate is currently 0.0021902. It is set by governance and can change.
• LevelRate is the coefficient attached to your Hipo Club level.

A validation round lasts 65,536 seconds — about 18.2 hours — so there are roughly 481 rounds a year. At the current rate, each GRAM in your stake earns about 1.05 HPO a year at Level 1.

The base is what your stake is worth in GRAM right now — your hGRAM balance at the current exchange rate — not the amount you originally deposited. Because base rewards push that value up every round, your HPO rewards grow with it: the two streams compound together.

Level coefficients

The coefficient is not the level number — it starts at 1× and accelerates as you climb:

Each level is worth more than the one before it: moving from Level 1 to Level 2 adds 0.2×, while moving from Level 9 to Level 10 adds 1.8× — nine times as much. The reward for climbing is back-loaded.

What it is worth

HPO rewards are paid in a token with a market price, and that price moves. Valued at HPO’s market price on 29 August 2026, the boost adds roughly 0.18 percentage points to your effective annual return at Level 1, and roughly 1.8 percentage points at Level 10.

So a staker at Level 10 earns approximately the GRAM staking APY on the Stats page, plus about 1.8% in HPO terms.

Note

We state it this way deliberately. A large HPO number on its own does not tell you what you are earning, and the HPO market is small — the token is thinly traded, so the value of a large HPO position is not the same as the value of a small one. We would rather you know that than be surprised by it.

Levels

Your level multiplies everything above: at Level 10 the same stake earns ten times what it earns at Level 1. You also earn 1% of the HPO rewards generated by people you invite.

There are two ways to level up:

• Seasonal upgrade — claim your earned rewards at least once during the season; your level rises automatically at the end of it.
• Instant upgrade — pay the level-up fee and your level rises immediately.

Two rules matter:

• Selling rewarded HPO resets you to Level 1. The Club is designed to reward people who hold, and this is the mechanism. Sending rewarded HPO to an exchange, or to a wallet you have not connected to the Club, counts as selling; moving it between your own connected wallets does not — see Using Multiple Wallets.
• There is no claiming window. Rewards accrue every round and can be withdrawn whenever your balance is at least 1,000 HPO.

Extra rewards: profit sharing

HPO is Hipo’s governance token. Holding it gives you a vote in the DAO and a share of protocol revenue, distributed at the end of each Hipo Club season — see Profit Sharing.

Note

While the governance fee is 0%, the protocol collects no revenue, so there is nothing to distribute in this stream. Profit sharing resumes when the fee does. The 0% fee is what makes the base rewards as high as they are.

The more you participate, the more you earn, and the bigger your role in shaping Hipo’s future.
